INTRODUCTION OF MS.Y

Once upon a time in the cold North of Sweden a baby girl was born, they called her Yaiya. This lively baby started singing when she was about two years old and wrote herfirst song at the age of 6. Almost a year later, she entered a talent show called "Little Stars" with the Disney Motion Picture song "Colors of The Wind". Up against teenagers and older kids, she managed to reach the finals and win comfortably and convincingly. At this particular moment she chose her path. 7 year old Yaiya got off stage, turned to her mother and firmly announced her drive and determination; "This is only the beginning.."

BIOGRAPHY

Yaiya took lessons at the local music school (between the age of 9-14). Her guitar teacher Björn Lundgren allowed the young girl focus on her singing and the lessons was mostly on him playing different guitar tunes and her singing. The home-studio was the very first sight of what she thought the professional music business is like. Björn quickly started acting manager and booking her to local gigs.

At the age of 9 she entered a another talent show with Jennifer Lopez's song "Waiting For Tonight" and ended up with 2nd place. She entered yet another competition a year later with Janet Jackson's "All 4 U", again ended up in the 2nd place but this time also won the award "Best Dancer".

She had written the song "How Sweet" for the 7th grade graduation. She performed that song along with Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment Like This" and Whitney Houston's "I Wanna Dance (With Somebody)" after competing at the UKM regional festival finals and won. She had gotten through to face Sweden's finest youth.

At 14 years old Yaiya along with the school band sang Michael Jackson's "Give In To Me" at Saga Theatre and lyricly performed "You and your friends are laughing at me in town, but it's okay, and it's okay. You won't be laughing now when I'm not around. 'Cause I'll be okay! (it was aimed at a crowd in the audience who had teased her in her youth) That was the moment her mother got the insight her little girl was going to become a huge star, music was more than a hobby.

She admired Michael Jackson and while growing up imitated his dance moves in front of the TV, Yaiya became a fan of dancing. Took a week of intence dance lessons once a year and after a short while she and her mother started "Kunskaparna". Yaiya was in charge of her own dance classes at "Artist School" teaching kids (between ages of 6-10) and youths (between ages of 11-15) streetdance/hip hop, jazz, modern dancing and african dance. This went on for some months and ended in a show where she sang a re-written version of Michael Jackson's "We Are The World" with the pupils as a childrens's choir.

When she turned 16 years, she decided to move all alone to Stockholm, to pursue her career as a full-time artist, she landed a gig at La Roche singing a repertoir of 20 songs per night every Wednesday, covers mixed with her own creations. The following year she was brought to Basecamp where she was introduced to a producer by the name of Mustodamus, and asked on the spot to go and sing in the studio booth. Together they have written about 10 songs.

2008 Yaiya won the finals in Stocholm in the radio talent show Svensktoppen Nasta where she performed with "Sapphire Sky"
